A new server

Like really. Here we are on a new server for real! So, what do I have to say about it? Thanks to my close Long Island buddy Joe McDonald for stepping up and allowing us to relocate.

This should give us more space to work with and I can definitely tell ya that someone’s coming along as well for the ride. ;-)

We’ll be having a lot more puck stuff as the playoff chases continue to heat up. While we’re busy focusing on our three metro area teams, it’s worth pointing out how well the Blackhawks and Coyotes are playing out West. Both teams had very good wins last night with Chicago shutting out the defending champion Ducks 3-0 and Wayne Gretzky’s ‘Yotes going into Dallas and posting a 3-1 triumph.

Suddenly, you have these two playoff contenders right there for the final couple of playoff spots with Nashville, Colorado and Vancouver. Can anyone really see the Canucks missing with Vezina candidate Roberto Luongo? I can’t. That would be devastating.

The Avs are trying to bring back the magic from years past with Peter Forsberg and Adam Foote both back. Who’s next? Valeri Kamensky and Uwe Krupp?!?!?!?!?!

I still don’t like their goaltending. The scoring is certainly plenty good enough. I wouldn’t bet against Calgary and Nashville has a lot of depth up front and on the blueline even if their netminders aren’t anything special.

It would be a great story if either the Hawks or Coyotes got in. Particularly the formerly dead Original Six franchise who suddenly is on fire and driving hard. That would be a real jolt for the league!

Everyone knows the caliber job Gretzky has done with Phoenix. It’s tremendous. You also have to give Ed Jovanovski some kudos as well as he’s bounced back from an injury riddled first season on The Desert returning to form. Oh. And getting Ilya Bryzgalov on waivers due to the Ducks’ cap issues didn’t hurt one iota either.

Shane Doan’s still a good player. I still can’t believe that Radim Vrbata’s closing in on 30 goals. Are you freaking kidding?

Peter Mueller’s a future star.

So, all in all, it’s good to be on this server. We hope you enjoy our blog.
