Candy Cane third jersey from Hell
September 10, 2008 · Derek Felix · Jump to comments
Okay. So I checked my NHL Today and this was the much anticipated day where the Carolina Hurricanes would release their brand new third jersey.
Now I’ve never been a fan of alternate jerseys which seem to be becoming more of a craze due to the NHL supporting the idea to make as much money as possible even if the jerseys don’t resemble anything like the more traditional home and road ones. Let’s just say the Hurricanes should have stuck with the other pair.

Meet the third jersey from Hell.
Tell me if this commentary from Carolina GM Jim Rutherford sounds forced:
“We’re very proud of our traditional uniforms. But after ten seasons in North Carolina and a lot of different ideas from our fans, we felt it was time to introduce an additional look for our team.”
Not exactly a ringing endorsement of whatever the hell that is above. I mean God. Could they have at least attempted to make it look more like the other two which actually aren’t bad even if they’re not on par with the Whalers?!?!?!?!?!?!
Two words come to mind. Butt ugly.
