Coach’s Corner 11/1/08

November 2, 2008   ·     ·   Jump to comments

I wanted to do more of a writeup of the past weekend’s busy sched including the latest setback to Rick DiPietro along with a depressing home loss to Montreal but I’m really not feeling well and need to get into the doc tomorrow. I got a zillion things wrong. Ah well. Looks like I might miss out on Isles-Rangers at the Garden too.

I’m just sapped right now. It’s probably a flu epidemic. But anyway, I still wanted to at least link up last night’s HNIC Coach’s Corner with Ron MacLean and Don Cherry cause if you had Center Ice here, you got the shaft due to the Rangers and Leafs also being on NHL Network and blacked out.

I feel it’s only fair for the locals to at least see what was covered as it’s a must watch.

Gotta love Grapes’ classic Halloween laser light pumpkin tie. Of course he touted himself over the Leafs’ improvement. I guess maybe the same can’t be said for Cujo, who didn’t have too good a first outing in a 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes a day following their awesome comeback against the Rangers. Well, it wasn’t awesome for me but it was a long time coming and maybe a wakeup call. Next time don’t sit back!

Before I leave ya, I have to ask this one question. Who’s better? Zach Parise or Thomas Vanek? They’ve been compared ever since college and are playing out of this world. So, who would you rather have to build a team around?

One other note to pass along. Martin Brodeur won’t get the start tomorrow snapping a string of 51 straight. But the elbow injury might not be serious. Guess we’ll just wait and see.

I’m out.
