NATIONAL TV SPOTLIGHT ON DEVILS-SABRES TONIGHT
From the Elias Sports Bureau: With Martin Brodeur sidelined due to an elbow injury, Kevin Weekes will start in goal for the Devils against the Sabres tonight. Brodeur has started 881 of the Devils’ 994 regular-season games since 1995-96. The other goaltenders who have started for New Jersey over the last 13 seasons are Chris Terreri (31 times), Mike Dunham (28), Scott Clemmensen (17), Corey Schwab (16), John Vanbiesbrouck (9), Kevin Weekes (5), Jean-Francois Damphousse (4), Jeff Reese (2) and Rich Shulmistra (1).

Thomas Vanek
has 11 goals in Buffalo’s 11 games this season. Vanek is the second player in Sabres history to score at least 11 goals over the team’s first 11 games of a season, joining Rick Martin, who did it twice: 13 goals in 1972-73 and 11 goals in 1973-74.

Also, Zach Parise enters with a six-game goalscoring streak.
