Games Tonight

November 7, 2008   ·   Derek Felix   ·   Jump to comments

There’s a light Friday night schedule with four games on tap excluding the Rangers, Devils and Islanders who will all return to action tomorrow. Check our scheduling widget.

Here are tonight’s games:

Ott (6-5-2) at Car (7-4-2), 7 ET: The Sens have played better with Alex Auld emerging as starter. Mike Fisher is getting healthy. The Canes continue to win despite injuries. Peter Laviolette’s a great coach. But he also has a great offensive system. How else can one explain Niclas Wallin and Dennis Seidenberg each with seven points?

Mon (8-1-1) at CBJ (5-6-2), 7 ET: All the Habs do is win. Whether it’s stunning the Isles with four unanswered led by Alex Kovalev or getting hot goaltending from Carey Price, this team is awfully tough to beat. They visit an improved Jackets club who boasts two Calder candidates in Jakub Voracek and Derick Brassard. Believe it or not, this team’s worth watching.

Atl (4-7-2) at Buf (8-2-2), 7:30 ET: The one local if you can call upstate Western New York that are the Sabres led by leading goalscorer Thomas Vanek whose 11 are one better than Alex Semin. You want offense? Watch them as they host the Thrashers, who have shown signs of life lately. Though we have no clue where Ilya Kovalchuk is these days. He must be dying to play on a contender.

Dal (4-6-2) at Ana (9-5-1), 10 ET: The Marty Turco mystery continues as the Stars just aren’t getting the kind of goaltending they expected. He’s gotten out to slow starts before but this is alarming. Sean Avery is already making enemies of a few teammates. The good news is Mike Ribeiro and riser Loui Eriksson continue to play well. They better be ready cause the Ducks have turned it around as Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf have woken up and are carrying them. Beware of cheapshot artist Chris Pronger.

Enjoy tonight’s slate!
