Nielsen out 8-12 weeks

November 22, 2008   ·     ·   Jump to comments

According to Hockey Buzz, the Islanders announced that Frans Nielsen will be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks due to leg injuries sustained at the conclusion of the Mike Mottau high hit.

He landed awkwardly on his right leg which was probably where the injury occurred. He didn’t suffer a concussion. Still, you have to wonder how Mottau got only two games.

Not good.

In other injury related news, the Stars lost their captain Brenden Morrow for the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL in his right knee suffered during the club’s recent 6-3 loss to Chicago.

Still no official word on Roberto Luongo.
