Deadline Announcement

February 28, 2009   ·     ·   Jump to comments

With the March 4 trade deadline approaching this Wednesday at 3 PM, we’ll be having a deadline day complete with trades as they come in.

As one of the most exciting days for hockey fans gets closer, we’ll have a list of who goes. I’m extremely pumped for the festivities and wonder which stars will be moved.

Jay Bouwmeester could be one of the top players to go with the defenseman turning unrestricted this summer. Might All-Star veteran Chris Pronger be joining him on the block? It sounds like that could be the case. Olli Jokinen’s stay on The Desert also might be brief with four teams said to be interested via TSN’s Darren Dreger.

We’ll have more trade stuff as it comes. Stay tuned.

I always hate coming home at the tail end. I assume you’ll be around to update, the only time I could do an update would maybe be noon for a half hour.

I’ve said from day one the Bouwmeester trade talk is nonsense, the Panthers need to make the playoffs and are still in good position to do so.

It is possible one of the Duck defensemen could be moved now though. Phoenix needs to dump salary so I wouldn’t be shocked at anyone who goes there though like Toronto last year the NTC’s could get in the way.

I will be around. So, don’t worry. I’ll update as best I can. It should be tons of fun. :-)

I agree about Bouwmeester but it sounds like if Martin gets a good offer, he’s gone. I would keep him too for the sanity of that franchise.

Pronger sounds like he’s on the block. Bruins possible suitors and maybe the Devs?

We’ll see. Looks like Guerin will be a Cap.
