Langenbrunner out for two games (at least)

April 19, 2009   ·   Hasan   ·   Jump to comments

Well things just keep going from bad to worse don’t they?  Not only did Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner miss the latter part of Game 2 but he didn’t even make the trip to Carolina and will miss Games 3 and 4 with an unspecified lower-body injury, which will be reevaluated after Game 4.  This complicates things even further as the Devils try to win at least one game in a city that’s been haunted for them over the last few years.

Like I said the other night though, no excuses.  It can be done.  Yes, we’re 0-6 against Carolina in the RBC Center during our last two playoff series (2002, 2006) and lost both games on the road to them during the regular season this year.  That said, it’s time for this year’s Devils team to prove that they’re not just a regular season tiger and stick it to their cocky rivals.

Assuming no technical difficulties, I will do my second (and last?) liveblog of the season tonight, since it is a Sunday evening road game and the weather’s supposed to be murky out the next few days.  With any luck, it’ll go as well as the first one.

Certainly never easy when you lose your leader but like ya said, it’s playoffs and the good teams show character and find a way.

    Should be interesting.
