The New York Islanders added four depth players Monday including former Ranger prospect Greg Moore. The 25 year-old from Lisbon, Maine was part of a pre-lockout deal that sent Chris Simon to Calgary, also including top penalty killer Blair Betts (UFA).

At one point, Moore seemed to be in the organization’s plans following a productive 2007-08 with the Wolf Pack, netting a career high 66 points. He was recalled by the Rangers playing in six games but didn’t register a point. In 2008-09 with Hartford, he scored 23 goals and 16 assists for 39 points, adding two helpers in their first round playoff defeat.

With the club boasting better prospects, it isn’t a surprise that Moore’s moved on. Maybe he’ll get a better chance on the Island. However, it is a one year, two-way contract. So, he will have to impress in camp or the team can send him down to Bridgeport.

The other three players who also agreed to identical two-way deals are forwards Matt Moulson and Greg Mauldin along with blueliner Mark Flood.

The Isles also signed undrafted goalie Scott Munroe, forward Jeremy Reich and defenseman Brett Westgarth to two-way contracts last Thursday. One other minor move saw them swap minor leaguers with the Devils acquiring Smithtown’s Tony Romano for Ben Walter.

The only major signing GM Garth Snow’s made was adding 40 year-old veteran netminder Dwayne Roloson, who is a capable No.1 if Rick DiPietro struggles.
