Zherdev scores in KHL debut

September 23, 2009   ·     ·   Jump to comments

It was a good day for former Ranger Nikolay Zherdev. The talented 24 year-old right wing scored in his KHL debut helping Atlant post a 4-1 win over Amur earlier today in Russia.

The game didn’t start off great for him as he turned the puck over allowing Yury Koksharov to put Amur ahead. But Zherdev’s teammates picked it up scoring four unanswered including the decider from former NHLer Jan Bulis.

Zherdev also tallied when he buried a centering pass in front. Former Sen netminder Martin Gerber won his debut. For more on this story and KHL related news on players you’d like to still follow, please refer to our newest link partner The KHL.Net.
