Mystery still surrounds Devils’ roster beyond Opening Night

So I guess the Devils’ big roster decisions over the last week turned out to be - for now – no decisions at all, as the team IR’ed Illka Pikkaranen a day after putting Patrik Elias and defenseman Mark Fraser on the injured list.  With the three players on IR, the Devils’ roster is now down to 23 for Opening Night, and Jay Pandolfo is also questionable for the game due to injury.  In any event, here are your 2008-09 Devils:

Goaltenders: Martin Brodeur, Yann Danis

Defensemen: Paul Martin, Johnny Oduya, Colin White, Mike Mottau, Bryce Salvador, Cory Murphy, Andy Greene

Forwards: Zach Parise (LW), Travis Zajac (C), Jamie Langenbrunner (RW), Brian Rolston (LW), Danius Zubrus (C), David Clarkson (RW), Brendan Shanahan (LW), Rob Niedermayer (C), Nicklas Bergfors (RW), Jay Pandolfo (LW), Rod Pelley (C), Andrew Peters (RW), Pierre Luc-Letourneau Leblond, Matt Halischuk
