3-1 Wild after 2

October 30, 2009   ·     ·   Jump to comments

As of right now, this team looks doomed. I realize there’s no Gaborik but the lack of effort is alarming. And I’m also running out of patience with Tort, who btw is doing a lousy job.

They had to know the Wild would come out energized in front of their own fans. Apparently, nobody got the message. Dan Girardi is officially Rozsival II. And whatever happened to Marc Staal? He stinks! They oughta also put Captain Clutch’s mug on the back of a milk cartoon.

How does Tort put the fourth line out with 100 seconds left in the first of a period his team’s been dominated in? Brash’s turnover was disgusting, rejuvenating the career of Petr Sykora. The coverage on Minny’s two in the second following Dane Byers’ first from a sharp Tinman were brutal. PA Parenteau didn’t pickup Eric Belanger and then Staal and Rozsival II struck, allowing Antti Miettinen to score his first. Why does our team always allow players’ firsts?

Lundqvist hasn’t been bad sadly but is again getting too frequent visitors in his crease while nobody does anything. Why couldn’t the coach start Vally? He’s not sticking to the plan. And also keeps shuffling the lines so much, that they have little semblance of chemistry.

Anisimov’s been good again and deserves a chance on the top line. Try him with Prospal and Lisin. At this point, I want Drury on the third line. Paging Dubi. Where are you? Yep. They’re a mess and I’m not bothering with the third.

Kudos to the Islanders for beating Ovie and the Caps in DC 4-3 in overtime. Great setup by Tavares to Mark Streit. The Isles put out maximum E-F-F-O-R-T. A foreign concept right now to the lost guys in red, white and blue.

Tenth is looking good.
