Lundqvist out tonight versus Flames

As it turns out, Henrik Lundqvist is nursing an injury. So, it will be Steve Valiquette getting a second consecutive start when the Rangers face a very good Calgary team later tonight. For more on Henrik’s status, here’s a blurb from Steve Zipay of Newsday.

This certainly throws a wrench into the Rangers’ realistic chances of going two for three on a challenging Northwestern Canadian swing before getting four days off prior to hosting Atlanta this Thursday. Guess we’ll see if Vally’s up to it. His teammates will have to play well in front of him like they did Thursday in the 4-2 win over Edmonton. They’ll really need to keep Jarome Iginla in check and prevent Dion Phaneuf (6 goals) from unleashing that lethal point shot which beat the Blues the other night, further damaging my fantasy team cause I had Chris Mason in. Why did I keep him? The Blues can’t score into a whorehouse. Oh well. Just my luck.

There will be familiar faces Freddy Sjostrom and Nigel Dawes on the other side. Both have played alright for the Flames with Sjooey 1-4-5, +5 while Nigel’s 4-3-7, -6. Keep an eye on Rene Bourque and Robyn Regehr as both are off to quick starts. Figure Miikka Kiprusoff also to be back in further decreasing our chances. It’s all stacked in Calgary’s favor. So, don’t expect too much.

It’s the Rangers’ 18th game of the season. Only the Canucks have played the many with injuries to boot. At least our guys have stayed relatively healthy. Colorado’s played one less. Now, there are teams who have played only a dozen. How is that possible? It just doesn’t seem right. But it always seems to happen to our team cause they share MSG with the pathetic Knicks, who of course get first-line status on MSG tonight. Well, they do play earlier but c ‘mon. They are garbage. If LeBron goes there, he’s officially a dumbass.

The game will be on MSG-+ following Thrashers-Isles with Devs-Sens on MSG-++. If Dolan had any brains, he’d throw the Knicks on there since they are the weak link. I hate that man. See ya later.
