Video Of Day: Roloson’s 58 saves versus Leafs

November 25, 2009   ·   Derek Felix   ·   Jump to comments

We’re putting this one up on demand courtesy of our outstanding NJ Devil blogger Hasan, who didn’t catch Dwayne Roloson’s virtuoso performance Monday in which the 40 year-old vet stood on his head literally, finishing with an astounding 58 saves in a 4-3 Islander win over the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.

We were busy ourselves shaking our own head in disbelief at the seven-goal Ranger game in a win over the Blue Jackets. But just seeing the Isles-Leafs hi’s on NHL Video gave us a great feel for what took place in what was the most stops by a goalie in a regular season contest since Quebec’s Ron Tugnutt (70 saves) 18 years prior in a win over Boston. Speaking of which, we got some vintage Nords’ road blue jerseys and might even donn one at a future Blueshirt game. Without further due, here’s the cool nine-plus minutes of The Rollie Show:

Yeah finally got around to watching it, that was something else. Loved Burkie’s reaction in the OT lol. I didn’t even realize Wayne Primeau was still in the league, man.
