The Battle of New York blog is a fantastic, in-depth hockey website featuring statistics and commentary from passionate fans of the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres, plus occasional Islanders commentary as well.  Created by hockey blogger Steve Lepore in late 2006, the blog has had banner days covering trade deadlines, drafts, and playoff match-ups.

Battle of New York has been run by Derek Felix since January 2008. He brought out of the blogspot-ages and into the wordpress era in March of that year. However, he could hardly have done it alone without the outsanding help of Devil blogger Hasan and Sabre extraordinaire Brian Sanborn. It’s been the excellent teamwork and true dedication that’s made Battle much like a successful hockey organization.

The trio awaits the drop of the puck on another season in hopes that just maybe it could be their year. Will John Tavares lead the Islanders back to the promised land? Does Martin Brodeur have one more special run in him? Is this the year King Henrik delivers? Or is it finally Buffalo’s time with Rick Jeanneret in rare form? These are the questions we want answered rather than seeing Sidney Crosby’s mug plastered everywhere.
